Detroit’s three casinos have reported an aggregate revenue for May 2023 of US$105.6m.


$104.7m was generated through slots and table games, which is a 1.4 per cent drop against May 2022 and a 4.5 per cent drop against the previous month.

The rest came from retail sports betting, which pulled in $16,936,055 in total retail sports betting handle and gross receipts of $921,268. Qualified adjusted gross receipts were down 62.6 per cent against the same month last year, but up by $773,382 compared to April 2023.

Of the three casinos, MGM holds the largest cut with 47 per cent of the market shares, while MotorCity has 31 per cent and Hollywood Casino at Greektown has 22 per cent.

Fantasy contest operators reported total adjusted revenues of $2.1m and paid taxes of $175,204.
