Monthly revenue across the three Detroit casinos dropped 4.5 per cent in January to US$103.5m.


However, monthly table games and slot revenue rose 4.4 per cent compared with January 2022 results, up to $103.4m.

MGM held 48 per cent of the market share in the US state of Michigan in January, followed by Motor City and Hollywood Casino at Greektown.

MGM’s $50.2m in gaming revenue in Detroit translated to a 3.2 per cent increase on January 2022’s efforts, while the other two casinos also enjoyed revenue rises year-on-year.

The three Detroit casinos paid $8.4m in tax to the State of Michigan in January, up from $8m in the same month last year. And $16.3m was paid in wagering taxes and development agreement payments to the City of Detroit during January by the casinos.

As for retail sports betting for the three casinos, total handle was $15.2m and total gross receipts were $149,379.

Retail sports betting qualified adjusted gross receipts for January dropped by $1.8m, or 94.3 per cent, compared to the January 2022 results and by $1.5m or 93.2 per cent compared with December 2022’s results.
