Face masks, no smoking and reduced capacity are features of the latest crop of reopenings of US casinos.



The face masks and ban on smoking are introduced in the Southland Park venue at Delaware North in Arkansas. There is no news of a reopening date for the Atlantic City casinos, but the hotels there are now beginning to reopen.

In California, the hotel is to remain closed at the Soboba Casino in San Diego, but the gambling facilities are back in action from tomorrow (Wednesday) with two bars and three restaurants. However, customers will be limited and Plexiglass barriers are being installed at table games.

Florida’s Hard Rock in Tampa opens this Thursday and the Miccosukee Casino in Miami has started again but with maximum capacity of 500 guests, says Fantini’s Gaming Report. The temperature of guests has to be checked upon entry  and there is a strict cleaning protocol for each machine after use.

Slots only are being opened once Wynn’s Encore Boston Harbor is reopened at some unspecified date, reports the Massachusetts press. Craps will be on offer, as there are typically fewer people, but no poker.

In Minnesota the Prairie Edge Casino in Granite Falls is now half-opened in terms of capacity with some slots blocked off and the blackjack and poker tables remain closed.

Thirty-one of the 84 slots at Lakeside Entertainment, Union Springs, New York, are now open, but guests must submit to temperature checks and wear masks.

In Oregon the Mill Casino at North Bend and Chinook Winds Casino in Lincoln City open later this week with sneeze guards, masks and temperature checks.

Casinos in West Virginia are permitted to reopen from June 5, it has been announced.
