‘Bloody’ opening for Paddy Power shop

Home » ‘Bloody’ opening for Paddy Power shop

Former England footballer Terry Butcher declared open the latest Paddy Power shop at Bury St Edmunds – and found the shop window emblazoned with a large-scale picture of himself with a bloodied headband.

The photograph is a famous one in sport, from the time he gashed his head in a 1989 World Cup qualifier. And the ribbon he was to cut to declare the shop open was actually made of red paint-splashed medical bandage.

The Bury St Edmunds store is the first to be opened by the bookmaker in that part of Suffolk.
