The minimum requirements for reopening of casinos in Pennsylvania has been laid down by the US state’s Gaming Control Board.

The 10-page document, introduced by director Kevin O’Toole, will, he says, ensure that the casinos open “in a manner which promotes the safety of casino patrons and employees alike as well as assure an environment conducive to proper regulatory oversight.’

He added: “While these guidelines for casino operations will be subject to amendment as we move closer to a time of reopening, we believe that this plan will be effective in reducing the risk of exposure to Covid-19 for all employees, patrons and other guests.”

The state has 10 locations in operation plus two smaller resort casinos, employing a total of 16,000 people and generating over $1.5bn in tax revenue annually.
