The warring factions in the battle to control the Okada Manila casino resort in the Philippines took a new twist over the weekend.
The state-owned PAGCOR operator issued a statement backing the forced takeover of the premises by casino magnate Kazuo Okada, who physically occupied the venue and ejected staff.
The Hong Kong operator, Tiger Resorts Leisure and Entertainment, criticised PAGCOR for its “premature bias.” Its parent companies, Universal Entertainment Corporation and TRAL, went on record as “vehemently denouncing PAGCOR’s decision to blatantly take the side of the usurper Kazuo Okada in the ongoing intra-corporate dispute.”
The row is currently undergoing legal processes.
