Operators in New York must not advertise specific bets or feature characters who would appeal to minors as part of updated legislation.
The New York State Gaming Commission approved the fresh marketing and advertising regulations in a meeting earlier this week.
The legislation received unanimous support, with the requirement of an opt-out option from marketing another update to the Empire State’s pre-requisites for operators.
Revenue share advertising agreements have also been targeted as part of the new rules.
Elsewhere, there is now an advertising ban in areas where the “reasonably foreseeable percentage” of the audience is under the legal age to gamble.
Marketing on college-owned assets, such as school papers and radio stations, has also been outlawed.
