Sports betting is now legal in the US state of Massachusetts, following the signing off of a new law by Governor Charlie Baker (pictured).

CDC Gaming Reports said that the new regulation was formally approved by the Governor on Wednesday.

Sports betting in the state should generate about $600m in taxes for Massachusetts, in addition to around $70m in initial licensing fees, renewed every five years.
