Entain has signed a 10-year partnership with Greyhound Racing NSW to see Ladbrokes take over the naming rights of a top greyhound race series.
The Ladbrokes Million Dollar Chase is the first headline of the deal, which will be extended to include category exclusive track sponsorship at all NSW greyhound venues.
As the deal progresses, all racetracks around the Australian state will be branded as Ladbrokes venues.
GRNSW CEO, Rob Macaulay, said the Entain deal “trumps any previous commercial deals of this type by many multiples” and is a “huge win” for the sport.
He added that there was an “intensely competitive” and “thorough” tender process, with a number of bids for the naming rights. But Entain, Macaulay said, has now guaranteed upcoming “innovation and projects” that were a “telling part” of its bid.
Entain’s Ladbrokes will also put investment into GRNSW’s greyhound adoption programs.
“We’ve seen prize money double in five years, we’ve seen record greyhound rehoming numbers and we are now seeing the benefits of true partnerships with industry stakeholders who are committed to a sustainable and vibrant sport that is booming in regional and rural NSW as well as in the wider metropolitan area,” Macaulay concluded.
