The ongoing scandal at a Korean casino that was robbed of over $13m by an employee, is making the headlines in the country.

Most of the money that was taken from Jeju Landing International has now been recovered, according to the police. They found $7m of it in won bills in a hidden safe in the casino’s VIP room, where it is believed it was waiting to be laundered.

Another $3.6m was discovered at the house in which the main suspect, a 55-year-old Malaysian casino executive, had been living. She is now on the run. The other suspect in the case is an unidentified Chinese national and two other suspects are currently out of the country.

The theft came to light early in January and its revelation caused a drop in the shares of Landing International on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. This week another of the suspects was arrested in Dubai as he was about to board a plane back to Seoul.
