“Bulgaria is buzzing again,” said Merkur Gaming’s international CEO Athanasios Isaakidis following his company’s performance at the BEGE trade show in Sofia.

“It has been a great event for us and that is all down to our team here and the part played by our customers and business partners in the region. Bulgaria is buzzing and the future for all Balkan gaming enterprises looks extremely bright.”

Isaakidis and his company have been long-standing supporters of the Sofia event that this year attracted 80 exhibitors to the Inter Expo Centre for two days. The company said that the show was particularly busy on day one.

Merkur was supported by its cash handling associate GeWeTe and Merkur eSolutions. The main stand highlighted the new linked progressive jackpot Red Pocket and a selection of Merkur Mystery games. It also showed its electronic table games.

Merkur Gaming said that the eastern Europe region is well served by gaming exhibitions with annual events in Serbia, Romania and Bulgaria. “All these have the ambition to become the ‘best of the Balkans’ and all are very professionally run and each creates a positive business climate for this vibrant region.”
