It may be that two years of sitting idle for the new sportsbook at the Mohegan Casino at Virgin Hotels, Las Vegas, will come to an end.

UK bookmaker Betfred has at last been granted a hearing at the Nevada Gaming  Control Board for a licence to open the doors.

The NGCB is to hold a special meeting on January 25/26 for an agenda that includes the Betfred application.

Betfred chief,Fred Done will fly in specially for the meeting and if the licence is granted he hopes to have the sportsbook open in time for the big event of the year in the US, the Super Bowl.

The Virgin Hotel is the one-time Hard Rock. It reopened in March of 2021, but for reasons unknown up to now the licence for the sportsbook has not been considered.
