American casinos have started to reopen, with strict rules over social distancing – casinos in Idaho and Montana are the first to restart their business, says Fantini’s Gaming Report.
The Coeur d’Alene in Idaho opens this Friday with social distancing in each area, every other slot powered off, plexiglass barriers in key locations, face masks for everyone, no concerts or large events, closing from 3am until 7am and daily deep cleaning. And the spa, buffet and off-track betting will remain closed for the time being.
The Montana casinos will reopen on Monday, also with social distancing, meeting state-imposed cleaning standards and closing at 11.30pm.
Meanwhile, various other states have casinos in various stages of preparation to reopen, including Arkansas, California and Oklahoma, with the Regency in Laughlin, Nevada, opening a small part of its operation – its restaurant for takeaways.
