The second quarter 2021 for Scientific Games shows significant gains over the previous Covid-hit year.


Revenue was up 63 per cent and the company reported progress in its divesting of lottery of sports betting businesses. Meanwhile its balance sheet management has shown benefits with the generation of $149m in net cash from operations and paid down over $500m in debt since last October.

The CEO, Barry Cottle (pictured), said: “I am very pleased that we continue to make tremendous progress on all of our key strategic pillars while also driving significant growth in the quarter. We have emerged from the pandemic a much stronger company with significant momentum.

“All of our businesses grew sequentially on both the top and bottom lines in the quarter. Gaming delivered its highest revenue quarter since the fourth quarter of 2019, lottery and digital achieved record results and SciPlay delivered its second highest revenue quarter in its history.”

Revenue was $880m against $539m; net income was $113m compared with a loss of $198m and net cash provided by operations was $149m compared with $52m.
