There are some unusual statistics coming out of the US casino industry for April.


In 2020 April saw revenues of $145m in the month, down 96 per cent from $3.6bn. This year the grand total was $4.5bn for the month.

This figure includes sports betting, video lottery terminals, casinos and internet gambling… So April 2021 was actually 3,000 per cent up on April 2020. More appropriately, it was up 25 per cent on April of 2019.

The biggest climbers were internet gambling and sports betting, worth $538m of the total. Casinos in the US began to reopen in May of 2020, under restricted operating conditions. The statistics come from the Adams Revenue Revue.
