A plan to move the Camrose Casino in Alberta, Canada, to Edmonton is upsetting potential neighbours.
The Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis jurisdiction is looking at an application from Capital City Casinos to relocate the casino to a site 45 miles away in Edmonton.
The AGLC analysis suggests that the relocation would “have a positive impact on rural charities being serviced by the new facility.”
However, the Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues is strongly opposed to the plans. It has sent an open letter to the regulator stating firmly that the plan is damaging for groups that provide programmes and services to the city of Edmonton.
