Sparks in Nevada has a new casino, Legends Bay, following approval by the Nevada Gaming Commission.

The casino project dates back 15 years and has been beset with difficulties, but the venue, close to Reno, hopes to open later this summer, reports the Reno Gazette Journal.

The property is owned by Olympia Gaming, having bought it in 2006, but the plans were hit by a number of factors, including politics, recession and pandemic.

The venue was originally planned to have 1,000 rooms and an amphitheatre, but the final build is on a smaller scale. In addition to casino games, it will have restaurants and will feature a food truck hall.
