Some of the biggest names in European gaming are among the exhibitors at the Spanish FIJMA trade show that opened its doors in Madrid yesterday.

The show, which will continue until the end of tomorrow, is being held at the Feria de Madrid exhibition centre and for many years was better known as the FER show.

Although a mix of amusement machines and gaming equipment for the Spanish industry, FIJMA is primarily AWP machines destined for the country’s arcades, bingo halls and bars.

Some of the big names that would otherwise have been seen at the ICE London show next month, but are unhappy with its proximity to Easter, have taken the opportunity to display in Madrid instead.

They include Novomatic, Merkur Dosniha, R Franco, Zitro, Aristocrat, Bally Wulff, BetConstruct, Codere, Comatel, Unidesa and IGT. The show has around 130 exhibitors and anticipates a non-Spanish attendance of 20 per cent.
