Kentucky Derby owner and gaming machine operator Churchill Downs has reported on its fourth quarter and full year to December 31, 2021.
The US-based company had a record revenue of $1.59bn, up 52 per cent ,and net income was $249.1m compared with a net loss of $81.9m. A record EBITDA was recorded at $627m, up 119 per cent.
The operating performance included the 147th running of the Kentucky Derby, Derby City Gaming delivering record net revenue and TwinSpires Horse Racing showing EBITDA of $119m, down six per cent.
Among other highlights, the group had agreed to acquire nearly all of the assets of Peninsula Pacific Entertainment for $2.4bn.
