Casinos in Chile generated gross gaming revenue of CLP47.3bn (£39.5m) in January, an 8.2 per cent drop year-on-year.
The regulator the SCJ added that tax collections from casinos in the month hit CLP16.9bn (£14.1m).
This translated to a 6.7 per cent drop year-on-year.
Of the total taxes, CLP7.3bn (£6.1m) went to regional governments and municipalities while a further CLP7bn (£5.9m) went to the payment of VAT on gaming income.
The remaining CLP2.6bn (£2.2m) went to the tax on entry to gambling halls, which goes to Chile’s general funds.
