IGT has received a contract extension to supply the UK National Lottery’s core lottery system ahead of the switchover to a new platform.

In February, the current licence to run the UK’s National Lottery, which sine the lottery’s inception has been held by Camelot with IGT as its preferred technology partner, is due to expire, with Allwyn being awarded the new contract.

Allwyn completed its acquisition of Camelot in February 2023.

As part of Allwyn’s transformation programme for the National Lottery, a new platform will be implemented.

“We are pleased to continue to support the operation of the National Lottery, working alongside a range of other suppliers and Allwyn,” said Jay Gendron, IGT COO global lottery.
