IGT and Scientific Games win Brazilian lottery contract

A 20-year contract to operate an instants and passive lottery in the State of Minas Gerais, Brazil has been awarded to a consortium.

The consortium, which was formed by IGT and Scientific Games along with a local partner SAGA, will bring instant and passive games to the southeastern state where lottery games are the only legal form of gambling.

Only Keno and a national draw game are offered in the state currently.

The consortium will hold an exclusive licence for lottery operations in Minas Gerais for 20 years with an option for a 20-year renewal. The contract is effective June 9, 2023 and it is expected that instant games will be launched by the end of the year.
