Austrian game developer Greentube is set to significantly increase its audience in Greece, where it is already popular, after taking a selection of its best performing titles live with online sports betting and casino platform Fonbet.gr.

The content deal that further expands its regulated market reach has initially seen six popular slot titles made available to the operator’s local players. Hits such as the Egyptian-themed Book of Ra Deluxe, Dolphin’s Pearl deluxe and Lucky Lady’s Charm deluxe are now accessible to players, with other fan-favorites including the developer’s successful Cash Connection and Diamond Link series to join the selection soon.

Regulatory process:

In October 2020, the  Hellenic Gaming Commission (HGC) opened the application process for Greece’s new online gaming licenses after the authorities passed new regulations the year prior.

Among the regulations, players must be 21 and older while conditions for online casino include a max €2 slot stake, with a three-second spin minimum and a maximum win of €70,000 per round. And prizes capped at €5,000, and a jackpot games limit of €50,000.

After going from a provisional legal framework for online gaming to being fully regulated, more operators are now able to enter the Baltic country, where the Vienna-headquartered company’s content had already been available for some time.

Strong performer:

Lisa Sandner, Greentube’s Sales & Key Account Manager for Greece explained via news release that the company’s content is “performing strongly” in the Greek market and they are “thrilled to reach even more local players” through the partnership with Fonbet, “a prominent and reputable operator.”

Recent deals:

The tie-up follows other recent deals that have seen Greentube’s presence bolstered in regulated markets in North America, Latin America and Europe, where in November it increased its audience in Italy with the acquisition of Capecod Solutions. The Italian developer had already been part of NOVOMATIC Italia since 2017.

In September 2021, the Austrian firm made its debut in the U.S. iGaming market after partnering with Golden Nugget Online Gaming for its New Jersey online domain.

Most recently, the Novomatic Interactive division signed a major supply deal with Lottoland, making its classic slots available to the online casino’s customers under the operator’s UK and Gibraltar licenses. A leading operator, Lottoland offers players the opportunity to wager on the outcome of lotteries globally, as well as a premium sportsbook, bingo and casino, which is set to be significantly boosted by the addition of some of the developer’s newest and most well-known titles.
