The troubled Crown Casino in Perth, Western Australia, has a new CEO, David Tsai, the former MGM Resorts senior executive.

Tsai had been 15 years at MGM, most recently as the company’s Midwest Group president, governing the Grand Detroit and Northfield Park venues.

He has also been COO at the Gold Strike Casino in Tunica, Mississippi, and was CFO at the Monte Carlo Resort in Las Vegas.

Crown has been under a separate investigation as the AML and criminal activity scandal has ripped through Australian casinos, with the Perth venue’s parent company in Melbourne condemned by regulators.

Perth now has an independent monitor, Paul Steel, who will implement changes suggested by the separate royal commission held into the Perth venue’s activities.
