Casinos in England to open doors back up on July 4th

Casinos in England can begin reopening on July 4^th, according to information provided by the Betting and Gaming Council. The group stated this week that land-based casino operators in the country can get back to work, after more than three months of being shut down due to the coronavirus.

Moving Ahead: 

In May, the government of the UK stated that facilities that offer leisure and hospitality services could reopen during the third phase of reopening plans. This was the final stage, with businesses reopened subject to approval.

The measures only apply to the casinos of England and each facility must operate based on strict guidelines. This includes practicing social distancing and proper hygiene to help slow the spread of the virus.

Casinos in the region have been shut down since March 20^th and it was just three days later that the country was in lockdown. Players who visit the casinos must use hand sanitizer upon entering as well as go inside one at a time. Table capacity limits will be enforced and face coverings will be provided to guests who request one.

Creating a Safe Environment: 

Additional cleaning measures will be taken including cleaning slot machines after players complete a gaming session. ATMs must be cleaned every hour, at minimum. The layout of casinos must also be adjusted so that social distancing can occur.

In some instances, guests may see plexiglass screens to help maintain social distance among employees and guests. Employees will also be trained regarding the new guidelines so they can ensure guests are in compliance.
