The Star has entered binding documentation in relation to an agreement with the NSW government it made last year in regards to a NSW jobs guarantee and a cashless gaming trial.

In accordance with an agreement first made in principle on August 11, 2023, The Star has now entered a jobs guarantee agreement, pledging to maintain a minimum headcount and certain ratios of full-time, part-time and casual employees at The Star Sydney casino until June 30,2030.

In addition, The Star will be part of a formal trial of cashless and carded play at The Star Sydney casino. This is a precursor to reforms to the NSW regulatory framework ahead of the August 2024 introduction of cashless and carded play into NSW casinos.

“The Star appreciates the constructive engagement with the current NSW Government that has led to finalisation of an agreement that provides employment certainty for our dedicated and hard- working team members in Sydney,” said The Star’s Group CEO and managing director, Robbie Cooke.
