Spelinspektionen, the Swedish Gaming Inspectorate, has signed a new partnership agreement with Sportadar Integrity Services. The regulator will use the partnership as a way to ensure the integrity of sports in the country. Sportradar will provide services that will help prevent match-fixing and detect and investigate such matters.

Details of the Partnership Agreement

Sportradar will use its Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS) to monitor sports from a betting point of view. The Inspectorate will then be notified if any instances of suspected match-fixing occur. The UFDS was launched in February 2021 as an extension of Sportradar’s SIS’ Fraud Detection system. In 2021, the system was able to detect over 900 cases of suspicious matches around the globe.

Along with utilizing UDFS, the Inspectorate will be able to obtain risk assessments from Sportradar. The reports will show the degree of risk that is associated with the manipulation of a particular sport. Daniel Frisö-Grön, Investigator at the Swedish Gaming Inspectorate, commented on the deal by stating:

“Through the information, we will receive via Sportradar, we increase our knowledge of match-fixing that we can use in, among other things, our regulatory work. It also gives us opportunities to expand the exchange of information with Sports and the Police within the framework of our collaboration against match-fixing.”

The deal is the first integrity one for 2022 connected to a betting and gaming regulator. Such deals are important to the industry as a whole to ensure game integrity across multiple sports. Sportradar has access to quality products and data that helps to push any suspicious activity to the forefront so gambling regulators like the Inspectorate can take action.

Bowl Season Partner

Earlier this month, Sportradar announced another partnership, this one with Bowl Season. The strategic agreement will see the specialists become the official partner of Bowl Season, ensuring the integrity of American football bowl games.

Sportradar will act as the advisor to Bowl Season as it formulates how to enter the sports betting market in a responsible manner. The deal will see Sportradar provide insight on how its partner can take part in the value chain via commercial opportunities.

Formerly known as the Football Bowl Association, Bowl Season will work with Sportradar and use them as a top resource as it looks to the next football season. During the next scheduled spring meeting, Sportradar will educate the members of Bowl Season on its service options and discuss future plans.
