South Korea to add new casinos

The Incheon Free Economic Zone near Seoul in South Korea intends to add two to three casinos.

This is in an effort to grow tourism in the face of the casino resorts opening in Japan over the next five to 10 years, GGRAsia quoted Incheon Free Zone project manager Nicholas Kim.

The Incheon casinos would cost at least $600m each, he said. Paradise Co and Sega Sammy’s Paradise City is currently the only casino operating in the zone.

Casinos now planned for the zone include Mohegan Gaming’s Inspire and Bloomberry’s Solaire on Muui Island. Caesars has been working towards a casino but is expected to drop that project when it is acquired by Eldorado next year.
