Sands China increased its overall market share in Macau to 23.4 per cent in 2022.

Despite disappointing performances by all operators in the region, analyst Carlo Santarelli of Deutsche Bank – as also reported by Asia Gaming Brief – notes that Sands bolstered its leadership.

Galaxy Entertainment retained its spot as the second-biggest operator in the market, but fell from first to third in the VIP segment.

It was Sands that came out on top in the VIP segment with 26.6 per cent of the market share, above Melco with 26.5 per cent in second.

Although, Sands’ volume of VIP revenue fell 60.5 per cent year-on-year to US$191m.
