The J Resort in Reno, Nevada, held a grand opening and ribbon-cutting last week as the hotel-casino completed $300m renovations, reports the Reno Gazette Journal.

The rebranded former Sands Regency hotel-casino has been undergoing a multi-year renovation after Jacobs Entertainment bought it in 2017.

The first phase of renovation included remodeling more than 500 hotel rooms and the casino floor. The resort also added two new restaurants.

The renovation is part of Jacob Entertainment’s efforts to revitalise downtown Reno’s west corridor as part of the Reno Neon Line District.
