The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has revealed it has hit the 20,000 sign-up mark for its self-exclusion programs.
The regulator added that 21 per cent of those people – 4,335 – have chosen the lifetime ban.
And 1,026 people who self-excluded chose to re-enrol after previously removing their names from the list. What’s more, 307 of the people who re-enrolled selected the lifetime ban.
The PGCB said 3,778 of the people who have self-excluded did so via the regulator’s dedicated igaming self-exclusion program, with the other respective programs for VGTs and fantasy sports tallying 1,467 and 797 people.
The data showed that there were 12,811 males and 7,189 females on the self-exclusion register, with the age range between 21 and 102.
Elizabeth Lanza, director of the Office of Compulsive and Problem Gambling, said the self-exclusion programs are “effective and proven tools.”
