A range of radio and digital advertising supporting current gambling legislation and fighting what it determines is “illegal gambling” has been introduced by campaigners in Kentucky, US.

The Kentucky Merchants and Amusement Coalition (KY MAC) is focused on supporting small local businesses and is demanding legislation that would create further regulations on legal skill games.

At the same time, the legislation would crack down on illegal gaming and raise extra tax revenue.

“As an organisation, our goal is to support legitimate sources of entertainment, such as billiards and skill games that inject money into the commonwealth. We are small business owners; we are community stewards and we are Kentuckians against illegal gambling,” said KY MAC president Wes Jackson.

The organisation approves of skill games in its venues such as bars, restaurants, clubs, lodges and social organisations, but is opposed to those games that are evidently pure chance.
