The former CEO of the British Horse Racing Authority Nick Rust has joined the UK Gambling Commission as the chair of its Industry Forum.

Rust, who currently serves as the chair of the Starting Price Regulatory Commission and as a non-executive director of Redcar Racecourse, will assume his UKGC role in November for a two-year term.

Marcus Boyle, chair of the Commission, said Rust’s “extensive knowledge” of the gambling sector “makes him a valuable asset,” adding he is “confident” that Rust can help create a “productive and insightful Industry Forum.”

The Industry Forum will be made up of members of Britain’s gambling sector and will provide the UK regulator with insight into the views of the industry, the Commission’s plans and the wider environment in which they operate.
