A couple from the South West, Australia received what just may be the best wedding present ever, having won a $1.104 million jackpot from Dunsborough. Prior to the wedding, the groom was feeling lucky and went to the Seachange News to buy a lottery ticket on the morning prior to the wedding whilst waiting for his future wife to get her hair done.
On the day after the wedding, the newlyweds realized that they won the ticket. The husband said: “I had to go to Coles but it wasn’t quite open yet so popped into the newsagency first and bought a ticket as I was feeling lucky because it was my wedding day.”
The newlyweds have been a couple for 20 years and they didn’t plan a honeymoon, however, their plans have entirely changed with the winning ticket. Both winners said that they now plan traveling and paying their mortgages from the money.
This Monday, Lotterywest announced that people who came for the holidays at the South West should check their tickets since the win was still unclaimed. The South West seems to be a lucky place for Lotto players because this is the second prize in the area in two weeks. A person who won $100k still hasn’t claimed his price. Last month, a couple from Edgewater won a $1.6 million in Lottery.
