MGM China Holdings is pumping $594m into its Macau casino operations ahead of its bid to renew its licence in the Chinese territory in the round of tendering coming up.

The company is part of MGM Resorts International and is showing considerable confidence in Macau, despite the pandemic restrictions that have come and gone and come back again, reports the Wall Street Journal.

MGM China had recorded widening losses in the first half of the year due to the pandemic, this year topping $300m in losses attributable to its parent for the first half of the year.
