The Las Vegas Strip will get a new casino resort, as the plan to build one by billionaire Tilman Fertitta has been given the go-ahead by the Clark County commissioners.
The 43-storey, near-1,500-bed hotel is right in the Strip, on the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Harmon Avenue. The project will include convention space, spa, wedding chapel, car showroom, theatre, restaurants and a casino.
Fertitta is owner of the Golden Nugget, the famous downtown venue, through his company, Fertitta Entertainment.
He has bought six acres on The Strip for $270m. The site is currently occupied by a number of businesses, including a Tex-Mex restaurant, shops and a Travelodge motel that has not reopened after the pandemic.
Fertitta is the business mogul who owns dozens of restaurants in addition to the a series of Golden Nugget casinos, plus the Houston Rockets basketball team and hotels.
