Korea’s Mohegan INSPIRE reaches milestones to launch in 2023

Mohegan INSPIRE, the South Korean integrated resort of Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment, has reached the 30% milestone in the construction of this future largest integrated resort in Northern Asia. The completion of Phase 1A of the comprehensive project brings the company a giant step closer to the resort launch scheduled for 2023.

Challenging project stage completed:

With three subsequent stages pending to the ambitious project, Phase 1A represents a comprehensive and the most challenging stage of the project as the company had to meticulously follow the design to realize the underground, structural, and building solutions to fit these in the overall layout of the resort area. According to Wednesday’s construction update, most of these works of the main facilities are now completed.

US$ 1.3 billion investment:

The total cost for completion of the initial phase amounts to KRW1.8 trillion (US$1.3 billion). This phase covers an area equal to 64 soccer fields that will accommodate three 5-star hotels with 1,275 rooms, and a casino exclusively dedicated to foreign guests.

Great facilities:

Gaming and entertainment space would cover some 300,000 square meters (3,229,173 square feet) and will include 20,000 sq. meters (215,278 sq ft) of gaming space with 1,500 slot machines and 250 gaming tables. The resort will be highly convenient for visits as it will be situated next to the Incheon airport.

Mohegan will also use more than 18,500 sq. meters  (200,000 sq ft) for retail, food, art, and music facilities to house more than 60 popular outlets. It will also include South Korean largest sports and entertainment center with 20,000 seats. A two-tower hotel complex with 300 six-star rooms in one, and 700 five-star rooms in the other is the ace that the company puts on the table to cast away the slightest doubt about the experience offered to worldwide guests.

Attractive leisure and gambling destination:

The company is happy with the construction progress but looks forward to launching this unique experience. Chen Si, Chief Operating Officer of Mohegan INSPIRE, explained:

”Mohegan INSPIRE is elegantly designed with motifs derived from the beautiful landscape of Yeongjong Island in Incheon as well as Korean elements. Being nestled in the vicinity of Incheon Airport will serve as a great advantage for us in attracting foreign tourists from all over the world including Chinese and Japanese visitors.”

Chen Si also commented: “As a landmark leading the revitalized tourism and leisure industry in the post-COVID era, we will become a resort that mesmerizes guests with entertainment facilities and attractions that all generations can enjoy.”

The phases following Phase 1A will include the construction of the metropolitan area, indoor/outdoor amusement park, and many more attractions to make Mohegan INSPIRE an exceptionally attractive tourist and gambling destination for worldwide guests still in 2023.
