The return of international travellers to Las Vegas has helped to push visitation levels back to almost the pre-pandemic level.
According to news medium Vegas Inc, tourism officials report that in August nearly 3.2m people visited the city, up six per cent from the same month of last year, but down 11 per cent from August of 2019.
In 2021 altogether the casino city welcomed over 32 million visitors, but the convention and international travel sectors still lagged because of the pandemic.
But that figure is expected to be overtaken in the remainder of this year, if normal statistics are repeated, probably up to 37 million, matching the 2010 figure.
