Great Canadian opens Pickering casino

Great Canadian begins a major expansion today when it opens the US$1.4bn Durham Live in Pickering, adjacent to Toronto in Canada.

The casino will offer 2,400 slots, 100 table games, 140 live dealer stadium gaming terminals and 10 dining options as part of its first phase.

The slots could add US$125m in annual EBITDA if daily win per unit remains at the historical average of $313. The tables could add $15m in annual EBITDA based on the average historical table game win $2,400.

GC will receive 34 per cent of casino revenue from Durham Live as part of its management contract for the property. Future stages could include more table games as GC has the option to add up to 2,500 tables in the Greater Toronto area. GC’s 25th casino is the first to open in Ontario in 16 years.
