New Zealand’s SkyCity Entertainments, with five casinos in Australasia, has appointed former Tabcorp managing director and CEO David Attenborough to its board as a non-executive director.


SkyCity’s casinos are in Auckland, Hamilton and Queenstown in New Zealand and Adelaide in Australia, with hotels, restaurants, bars, convention centre and the Auckland Sky Tower. It also has an online gambling operation.

Attenborough’s appointment takes effect from March 1. Chairman Julian Cook said: “David has extensive gambling industry, corporate governance and sustainability experience which will bring considerable expertise to the SkyCity board.”

Attenborough has 12 years’ experience as Tabcorp CEO and managing director, before which he was CEO of Phumelela Gaming and Leisure in South Africa and before that held executive positions with a number of casino and racing organisations.
