Bears buy Churchill racecourse in Illinois

Major US operating company Churchill Downs is selling a 326-acre property at Arlington Heights, Illinois, US, to the Chicago Bears football team.

The site is the home of the Arlington International Racecourse and the sale price is $197.2m. It will close in late 2022 or early 2023.

Churchill Downs plans to use the proceeds of the sale to purchase or invest in a replacement property.
