Aristocrat’s Christian Colus has died at his family home on July 31 after a long battle with cancer.

The company announced this week that Colus’ funeral will be at Pernes-les-Fontaines in France tomorrow, Wednesday. He is survived by his wife and three children.

Colus, said Aristocrat in a statement, was “one of the gaming industry’s most prolific commercial visionaries.”  He joined Aristocrat in 2006 and became a leader in the French and Spanish gaming industries, becoming head of sales for southern Europe. From there he began to exert influence in other markets in Europe and Africa.

Said Aristocrat: “One of the most successful and adored characters within the Aristocrat family for 15 years, his achievements were monumental, revolutionising French and Spanish gaming floors, uniting operators to help propel the industry forward and developing a unique and deep-rooted camaraderie among a network of professionals across the globe. His legacy will remain for many years to come.”
