Following investigations by Liquor & Gaming NSW, two licensees will face charges in court over alleged breaches of NSW gaming laws.

In November 2022, the regulator conducted an inspection of Chittaway Bay Tavern and allegedly identified gaming machines positioned from where they could be seen from outside the hotel, as well as an ATM located in an area where gaming machines were kept.

On three separate visits in November and December 2022 to the Regent Hotel in Kingsford, Sydney, the regulator allegedly discovered the licensee allowing gaming machines to be operated between 5am and 6am, and a gaming machine being allowed to operate during the hotel’s three-hour shutdown period.

Dianne Lee Walsh, the licensee of Chittaway Bay Tavern, and Jessica Ng, the licensee of the Regent Hotel, are due to appear in the Downing Centre Local Court in relation to the charges on July 11, 2023.
