Yas Heat Racing Academy has announced its trials for the Yas Heat Racing esports team, with the Academy inviting talented young esports racers to take part for the chance to earn a coveted race seat on the squad.

Based at the iconic Yas Marina Circuit track on Yas Island, the academy was formed in November 2022 ahead of the 14th edition of the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, with the ambition to bring together the Academy’s circuit, karting, and esports teams under one roof to provide talented young racers with a clear pathway into professional motorsports.

After an impressive first season in the Formula 4 UAE Championship earlier this year, the academy has opened its application window to young racers aged between 13-18 as the academy searches for the next upcoming esports star sensations.

The esports side continues its 2023 season, with the team competing in a number of international championships including the Olympic esports 2023 series, the V-10 R League, the Virtual Le Mans Series, and the SRO Esports Championship Series over the coming months.

The trial series, running until 5th July, will feature an expert panel of judges who will review each driver’s trial laps, assess their race pace, race craft, and consistency in lap times, to select the five new additions to the Yas Heat esports team.

Matthew Norman, Team Manager of the Yas Heat Racing Academy, said: “I’m delighted to announce our trial window for the UAE’s brightest young esports racers, offering a great opportunity for the next generation of talented young racers to showcase their abilities and join our team for the upcoming season.
