Record revenues have been announced by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board in its fiscal year that ended on June 30.
A record $5.04bn was played in the state’s casinos, topping all previous records for annual revenue. The combined tax revenue from the operation during the year topped $2bn for the first time at $2.05bn.
The previous top figures for revenue and tax were $3.87bn and $1.59bn. The state has 15 casinos.
The board said that the overall revenue increase from the previous high could be attributed to a record high in revenue for table games, plus growth in sports betting, igaming and video gaming terminals.
