Churchill Downs has entered an agreement with DraftKings to develop and launch DK Horse.

The deal between the Kentucky Derby race owner and the sportsbook operator will enable DraftKings customers to bet on horse racing in a multi-year arrangement.

TwinSpires, the Churchill Downs subsidiary, will advance deposit-wagering technology to DraftKings and DK Horse will be available in the coming months through an app.

Players will have to sign up and deposit funds in the DraftKings Sportsbook, casino and daily fantasy sports apps, separately from their DraftKings account. An integration of the brands will be announced later.

The app will operate in 21 states at first and is slated to begin with the 149th running of the Kentucky Derby in May.
