Betfred has secured a three-year extension to its partnership with Rugby League Commercial.
The new terms represent a 25 per cent increase on the previous deal and include a new full-size pitch covering for Wheelchair Rugby League, which will be used for the first time in Sunday’s final in Manchester.
Betfred, RL Commercial and the Rugby Football League will continue to promote safer gambling as part of the new agreement.
Rhodri Jones, managing director of RL Commercial, said the increase in revenue from the new deal will be “vital in allowing us to deliver greater financial sustainability for our clubs, allowing them to maintain and increase the unique role they play in their communities.”
Betfred boss Fred Done added: “The sport has been working tirelessly to become one of the most inclusive in the world and it is important that this includes the Men’s, Women’s and Wheelchair versions of the game so I am delighted to be able to provide the new pitch covering for Wheelchair Rugby League to help with this.
“I look forward to a weekend of fantastic finals and to at least another three years’ Betfred involvement in Rugby League.”
