AGA has today released its Q1 2023 Commercial Gaming Revenue Tracker and State of the States 2023.


The results show the quarter to be the US industry’s eighth consecutive record-breaking quarter, with a revenue of US$16.6bn. This represents an annual growth rate of 15.5 per cent.

The AGA stresses that this accelertation was “driven by record revenue across all gaming verticals.”

$13.48bn was generated by commercial gaming in direct gaming taxes paid to state and local governments.

Mississippi was the only state which reported an annual decline in annual revenue. By comparison, 18 states broke all-time quarterly records for total commercial gaming revenue.

17 out of the top 20 hightest-grossing commercial casinos outside of Nevada saw growth in gaming revenue compared to Q1 2022. MGM National Harbor in Maryland remained the top grossing casino.
