Global online casino and sportsbook operator 888 Holdings has announced that it is looking to take advantage of the burgeoning iGaming market in Africa by launching 888bet-branded services for punters in four of the giant continent’s nations.

The London-listed behemoth used an official Thursday press release (pdf) to detail that its recently-established 888Africa joint venture has just premiered 888bet-branded domains for iGaming aficionados in Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya and Mozambique. The firm also stated that these mobile-friendly services will look to provide ‘a unique betting experience for players’ across the four African countries via the combination of its own ‘innovative and exciting brand with locally relevant product features’.

Competent control:

888 Holdings pronounced that the 888Africa arm was premiered in March and licenses its own ‘world-class betting and gaming brands’ under the leadership of the former Chief Marketing Officer for The Stars Group Incorporated, Christopher Coyne. The Gibraltar-headquartered operator declared that this enterprise has moreover employed ‘a team of highly respected industry leaders’ that have been tasked with fulfilling ‘an ambitious strategy’ of debuting 888bet-branded domains ‘across Africa’s regulated online betting and gaming markets.’

Coyne used the press release to pronounce that 888Africa is ‘focused on customer experience’ and has already secured 85% coverage in its market’s ‘mobile network operator payments.’ The experienced executive furthermore asserted that his operation has ‘enormous ambitions’ and is certain that the reputation of 888 Holdings gives it ‘a real competitive advantage’ in building up ‘market-leading positions across Africa.’

For his part and the Chief Executive Officer for 888 Holdings, Itai Pazner, used the press release to proclaim that the African gambling market is forecast to be worth up to $5.6 billion by 2030 with the new 888Africa subordinate now ‘well placed to capitalize on growing demand and maximize growth opportunities.’ He went on to disclose that the 888bet-branded site recently rolled out for players in Zambia already features a range of more than 1,500 games being made available in Swahili, Portuguese and English.
