Yggdrasil launches new GATI-powered online slot from YG Masters partner Bulletproof Games: Tempered Steel

Provider of online gaming solutions, Yggdrasil has launched the latest contribution from YG Masters partner Bulletproof Games titled Tempered Steel, which is the fourth video slot from the UK-based studio powered by GATI (Game Adaptation Tool & Interface), the provider’s proprietary enabling technology for game development and distribution.

The 5-reel, 3-row, 20 payline online slot follows previous collaborations including Tiki Runner 2 DoubleMax, Hunters Moon GigaBlox and Crystal Falls MultiMax, and is set in a “smithy,” where a determined blacksmith pounds out wins for those players who can handle the scorching heat of his fiery workshop.

Here you’ll find nine regular symbols including forged steel clubs, spades, hearts and diamonds, which are worth €0.20 – €5.00 for landing at least three matching on adjacent reels starting from the far left side. The blacksmith serves as the game’s wild during base gameplay and substitutes for all symbols except for the crucible bonus/scatter, while his tools can randomly heat up and drop off into the barrel. This causes steam to rise and a random modifier to appear, triggering one of three modifier features:

• Lock and Spin – reel locks if a stack of wilds lands, while an extra spin is awarded if any reel remains unlocked
• Bonus Frenzy – adds additional bonus symbols to the reels and are set on fire as they spin past
• Forge Your Weapon – players who smash through rock three times will see a weapon revealed, which appear as stacks of three symbols

Free Spins are activated by landing at least three bonus symbols, which sees five forges lit when entering the mode while one or more forges can be activated on each spin, which then sees a wild added to the reel above.

The number of wilds added to the reels depends on how many scatters land. If three bonus symbols trigger free spins, each forge will add three wilds – four will add four and five will add five. In the bonus, wilds move up one step per spins and when all forges have been put out and all of the wilds leave the reel the round ends. There is, however, a chance that at the end of free spins the forges are reignited and the bonus continued.
